The Stores Manager forms an integral part in the achievement of the Sales objectives.

With a strong, solid background in excel and process management, the employee will take a proactive approach to review current systems and procedures, making recommendations and implementing changes where required.

The role is key to leading the sales team's targets in accurately kitting on-time and delivering kits correctly to production as per the delivery schedule while reducing and adequately managing raw material stock in stores.


Scope:

The Store Manager will report to the Sales Manager and will support the store's team to achieve targets set.

Ensuring training and development (incl SAP B1) of the team is kept at the forefront of daily activities and support all reporting members of the stores team.

The role will have a clear focus on accurate receipt of stock physically and on SAP, kitting jobs accurately and timeously, managing stock levels accurately and facilitating the annual stock count in the support of all requirements at an operational and strategic level to help achieve objectives required to aid production.


Main responsibilities of the job include:

  • Management of the Target list as received from the Sales team each month.
  • Send purchase orders to Buying with regards to components not available in store timeously.
  • Manage the flow of the stores processes and the accuracy of the team in each respective role.
  • Inform procurement of late supplier deliveries timeously.
  • Inform production of expected late kit deliveries timeously.
  • Raise any other issues/queries affecting on time kit delivery to factory with the relevant stakeholder (procurement, finance, production etc) timeously and ensure resolution thereof.
  • Ensure kits are 100% correct and delivered to Production as per schedule;
  • Conduct routine cycle stock counts as per agreed schedule.
  • Accountable for the annual audit stock count.
  • Facilitate and take the lead in planning and conducting the annual audit stock take for raw materials.
  • Ensure SAP B1 system, including stock balances and relevant reports, are adequately up to date at all times for all raw material movement activity until goods are received by Production.
  • Ensure no stock movement occurs without the relevant SAP B1 processes / paperwork having been completed.
  • Foster close relationships with all stakeholder departments e.g. Sales, Production, Finance.
  • Continually improve methods stock management processes to drive down stock holding and value.
  • Have daily meetings with the team to discuss kits released targets.
  • Achieve kit delivery of +5 kits per day to production.
  • Maintain stock integrity and traceability of kits and stock.
  • Prepare usage / aging and other reports for the CFO as required.

Required minimum education:

  • Some prior experience managing stock or a stores (not large industrial).
  • Must have a degree or diploma of sorts to demonstrate cognitive ability.
  • Ideally some accounting or bookkeeping background as there is some financial requirements.
  • Excel skills/experience a must (not basic excel but also not advanced mid level).
  • Must have experience working on an ERP system, ideally SAP and ideally in stock management (could be another ERP system, they all work off the same principles).
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lead a team of up to 10 people successfully.
  • Must be able to plan, delegate, communicate well, and focus. Attention to detail is a must.
  • A logical approach to process management is required, as part of this job is ensuring staff follow set physical and virtual processes for all stock movements.
  • Must have a car.
