What you will do


You will be responsible for the accounting function and for the financial reporting, policies and controls for the Marketplace entities.

What are Marketplace entities? Marketplace in Mezzanine simply refers to current technology solutions that are in the process of becoming standalone businesses, and in time, will move to be a subsidiary of the Mezzanine Group.


You will prepare financial and performance analysis reports for management, and be responsible for the local in-country requirements in such preparation.

You will be responsible for the financial operations of the Marketplace entity and oversight thereof - including accounting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, procurement, taxation, bank requirements and communication, and statutory and other audits.

You will also be responsible for the necessary reconciliations between the Marketplace system and financial balances.


In terms of systems and controls, you will review financial systems and reporting tools and enforce and implement effective financial controls and internal control procedures.

You will also develop and maintain financial processes and financial related policies.

Requirements:

  • Qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA)
  • At least 34 years postarticles commercial finance experience
  • Proven knowledge of and experience in financial processes and statutory requirements of African countries
  • Ability to innovate and use initiative within the finance function
  • Ability to develop and work according to processes
  • Attention to detail ensuring validity, accuracy and completeness of financial information/data
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
