Quality Manager required for a reputable automotive manufacturing company, based in
East London, Eastern Cape

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 (matric) certificate.
  • Engineering Diploma or Engineering Technology Degree.
  • Quality related training: Auditing (Internal & Layered) IATF 16949, ISO / OHSAS 2018 ; Core Tools (HIRA, FMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, etc) ; Problem solving techniques ; Six Sigma ; R&R and MSA
  • High Level Computer Literacy
  • Excellent Experience with MS Office
  • Windows. (specifically Excel)
  • Min 57 years successful experience in similar Qual Management position. (within Automotive industry is preferable.)

DUTIES:

  • Manage the quality department.
  • Assures Quality of product and process for the plant
  • Measures and reports the Product Quality performance of the plant towards management team of the plant, using KPI's
  • Measures and reports the Process Quality performance of the plant by audit results towards management team.
  • Measures and reports the Cost of Poor Quality of the plant and drives the organization for improvements
  • Accurately data capture and report all nonconforming parts cost of poor quality (COPQ).
  • Ensure daily, weekly & monthly quality records are maintained.
  • Ensure all Global reporting via the various Customer and Internal Portals, is completed on time.
  • Drives the organization for continuous improvement for Quality Control in all processes, using Quality tools, such as PPS
  • Informs and train the local organization in latest released global
- and FTDS procedures and processes.

  • Supports colleagues in strive for scrap reductions and operational excellence.
  • Direct contact for customers for audits, concerns, and escalations
  • Ensure all Training Plan activities are arranged and completed, with all necessary feedback/effectiveness reported.
  • Controls, request, and reports deviation records and drives improvements.
  • Responsible for passing all internal and external audits, such as IATF16949, PQA, CQC, VDA6.3 and customer audits
  • Direct contact for customers for audits, concerns, and escalations
  • Keeps SH&E systems up to date, including regional and global reporting.
  • Manage the Safety, Health & Environment System, and keep all associated records up to date.
  • Is part of the Regional Quality manager team and participates in weekly Quality meeting
  • Measures and reports the Quality performance of the plant towards regional management, such as Quality Director

QUALITY SYSYEMS:

  • Manage the QA Systems. Assuring full and complete Quality Systems according to customer standards.
  • Develop and maintain the Quality Management and Document Control System.
  • Drive continuous improvement processes related to quality systems.
  • Maintain VDA 6.3 (and new releases), TS 16949, CCC certification and ensure compliance with all other audit requirements.
  • Drive monthly process quality audit and the VDA 6.3 & TS/ISO audit processes and ensure that all requirements have been met before each audit.
  • Drive annual PQA audit and ensure that all requirements have been met throughout the year.
  • Lead CCC certification audit and follow all customer requirements due to CCC demand.
  • Drive annual visual management audit to ensure that all requirements have been met throughout the year.
  • Set up and maintain LPA system for the plant and drive the improvements on findings.
  • Report monthly to management for status of audits, progress of resolutions and improvements

QUALITY CONTROL:

  • Create, manage and maintain P-FMEA system
  • Perform yearly Reverse FMEA process and update PFMEA system accordingly.
  • Maintain and continuously improve Control and Inspection plans in line with Global standards.
  • Ensure that routine destructive testing and process verification testing is done according to company requirements.
  • Report all deviadons regarding quality and process standards and drive the improvements.
  • Manage and control quarantine/containment cage, and its contents.
  • Perform inspection of all parts marked to be scrapped and record all parts that are scrapped.

CUSTOMER CONCERNS:

  • Compile 8D reports for all customer complaints.
  • Ensure all Global reporting via the various Customer and Internal Portals, is completed on time.
  • Follow up on actions required from each 8D report.
  • Problem solving orientated approach in daily business using 8D, PPS, Ishikawa tools.

SQA:

  • Lead all SQA activities including cost recharges and recoveries.
