Key Purpose

  • Providing functional support to each Personal Lines business unit as well as integrating and aligning with existing Discovery Insure structures across the different business units. This role supports and executes on the strategic objectives of Personal Lines with a focus on design, development and implementation of business efficiency and process.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

  • Full claims value cycle claims management across all distribution channels, legal recoveries and liabilities, as well as investigations.
  • To develop functional support structures to facilitate the communication and delivery of the strategic objectives for Discovery Insure
  • Optimise service models by integrating and aligning with existing Discovery Insure structures across the different operational teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in consultation with key stakeholders
  • Define networks, dependencies and processes to govern best practices and consistency across the different business units
  • To assess the impact, define business requirements and provide support to ensure successful execution of new initiatives or projects to drive the goals of the business
  • Recognise and mitigate risk with timeous escalation to appropriate stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence and alignment across the various businesses and internal stakeholders in terms of SLA agreements
  • Facilitate the development of dashboards and tracking mechanisms to analyse and measure outcomes, ensure resource alignment and engagement
  • To support the management of each business unit to achieve goals and targets

Education and Experience

  • Matric (Essential)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in short term insurance
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in claims management at a strategic level
  • Minimum of 4 years' relationship management
  • Minimum of 2 years' presenting and communicating at all levels
  • Minimum of 4 years' strategic stakeholder management
  • Minimum of 4 years' in the financial services industry
  • Minimum of 2 years in financial management
  • Degree (Advantageous)
