We are looking for a SHERQ Officer in Boksburg

QUALIFICATIONS AND:

EXPERIENCE

  • Matric
  • SAMTRAC or NOSA certificate
  • Safety Officer certificate
  • Degree/National Diploma in Safety Management or related
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • Any extra studies in SHERQ would be preferable
  • 3 years essential, 5 years preferable in a similar role
  • Knowledge and experience in working with ISO standards

DUTIES AND:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing regular SHERQ inspections at both Boksburg sites and providing a detailed report on findings to the HR Manager.
  • Preparing and handing out weekly toolbox talks to the relevant section foremen.
  • Scheduling, attending and taking minutes of Safety meetings.


 PPE inventory control
  • Cost control, monitoring, distributing and stock take as and when required.
  • Assisting with general stock count for SHERQ related deliveries.
  • Keeping up to date with health and safety regulations.
  • Developing, implementing, and improving health and safety plans, programmes and procedures in the workplace.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Identifying OHSrelated training needs in the workplace.
  • Conducting safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Investigating workplace accidents.
  • Checking the safety and proper storage of equipment
  • Training and carrying out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency safety situations.
  • Adhere to company standards, policies and procedures as well as customers standards at all times
  • Ensure company compliance with:
Internal/External Safety audits

Internal/External Environmental audits

(ISO9001, ISO140001, ISO45001)

  • Drafting and issuing of legal appointment letters
