Purpose of role:

The CIO is responsible for directing, co-ordinating and implementing an overall framework that drives business processes, information and data integrity across the enterprise and for all of its Business system and ICT functions (WAN, LAN, Infrastructure, Voice, Desktop Support).

Setting objectives and strategies for the IT department. Selecting and implementing suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits. Designing and customizing technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience


The CIO will act as the single point of accountability for all IT systems and projects delivered and is responsible for working with all business stakeholders to ensure effective alignment between business and IT.


The role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Business Unit's IT and digital discipline to improve infrastructure costs, performance of the function, end-user satisfaction and support technology innovation.

  • Bachelor's degree Information Technology or Computer Science (Essential)
  • Bachelor's degree Business Sciences (Advantage)

Experience:

Manage and Control IT Expenditure

  • Compile the Annual IT Budget and Forecast for the Company
  • Approving of all IT related cost for the IT department
  • Cost benefit and breakeven analysis for IT expenditure

Project Management for Major IT Projects

  • Plan the implementation of new systems and provide guidance to IT professionals and other staff within the organization
  • Evaluation of different solutions for the IT infrastructure and archecture improvements
  • Scope and evaluate the IT projects
  • Manage the IT projects to ensure that key objectives are achieved
  • Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers
  • Align the resources and manage the resources effectively to ensure that project are completed within defined timelines.
  • Ensure that the output are aligned with the overall IT strategies.
  • Report on the progress of the project to the relevant committees
  • Manage and control IT project cost
