Our company is looking for an experienced manger to help grow our business. We manufacture and sell leather goods and have a team of 7 people.

  • Job description: _
  • Direct and manage plant operations for production, maintenance, quality, shipping and receiving
  • Coordinate plant activities through the planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and costeffective manner
  • Develop and control profits, plans and budget
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenses, manpower, wages and salaries
  • Responsible for the full P&L of the facility
  • Manages capital assets maintenance
  • Establish and monitor over plant performance for production and quality standards
  • Establish and review production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure orders are filled on time whiles operating at the highest efficiency possible
  • Monitor processes, operation expenses and research ways to cut waste, improve efficiencies and enhance productivity while maintaining product quality
  • Work with product development personnel to develop new products and strategies
  • Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs
  • Maintain efficient inventory levels to meet daily production needs and cost requirements
  • Control and minimize labour overtime, premium freight and repair expenses
  • Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary
  • Monitor equipment to ensure that it is meticulously cared for and always in good working condition to avoid lapses in production
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
  • Establish and drive Environmental Health & Safety measures in the plant
  • Establish and drive sustainability measures in Plant in line with company's sustainability strategy
  • Provides direction, development and leadership to the production team
  • Motivate employees to maintain production and quality level by establishing measures of tracking performance and setting individual employee and team goals
  • Analyze workforce requirements; rebalance workforce across all functions whenever necessary
  • Recruit, hire and train employees
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and conduct evaluations of all subordinate managers within the plant
  • Build organizational capabilities by driving talent development planning in the plant
  • Retain and develop high potentials in building talent pipelines; build succession planning in his/her team
  • Provide the necessary leadership and guidance on the company's People Engagement strategies

Salary:
R13, R18,000.00 per month
