The Development Finance Controller supports Development Finance as well as Development Managers with their current and future projects. They must capture all invoices and obtain relevant signatures so that it can be processed for payment.

Moreover, they must also allocate the development payments in the treasury report to enable Treasury to ascertain the impact on capital requirements.


Job Objectives:

Processing of Open Order and Invoices for payment

  • Allocation of invoices to correct Projects and/or liaise with System Administrator to open new projects
  • Analyse the payments per the project payment summary from the quantity surveyor against the budget
  • Capture invoices and obtain relevant signatures so that it can be processed for payment
  • Assist with payment queries and ensure that they are resolved
  • Manage and maintain the Property Management System, such as the loading of new vendors and new workflows
  • Ensure that approved invoices for payment are receipted and sent to the System Administrator/Accounts Payable.

Reporting

  • Update the development project payments on the treasury report
  • Assist in Reconciling the project payment summary from quantity surveyors to the financial records on a quarterly basis
  • Assist in the transfer of completed developments to Investment Property at year end

Stakeholder Management

  • Provide information to external auditors
  • Ensure that the Development Managers and Project Managers are satisfied with the amounts payable
  • Ensure that cost reports are received on a timeously basis from the quantity surveyors
  • Obtain updated cashflows from quantity surveyors on a monthly basis
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including QS and other project specific parties)
  • Provide payment information to suppliers when requested
    Ad hoc administration
  • Provide invoices relating to direct payments to quantity surveyors to be included in project payment summary
  • Assist in raising the invoices for tenant account recoveries
  • Adhere to deadlines
  • General treasury and development finance administration

Educational Requirement:

  • Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (BCom)
  • BTech in Cost and Management Accounting

Knowledge Requirements:
