RPO's client is looking for a motivated individual to join their team as a Management Accountant and progress into the role of Financial Manager. The perfect candidate should have extensive experience in management accounting, financial processes, forecasting, job costing, bill of materials, budgeting, customer credit management, and systems implementation. Your main task will be to assist directors and senior management in making crucial business decisions by analyzing and presenting essential financial data.

This position involves actively introducing new systems, supervising the finance admin team, working closely with senior and middle management, setting up daily dashboards, overseeing accounting procedures, and preparing forecasts, budgets, and risk analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enhance financial control and ERP systems to align management information to top-notch standards.
  • Ensure business transactions comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Review and analyze expense differences for company management.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing managers to create effective costing models for optimal stock control.
  • Develop cost-inclusive models with servicing managers for appropriate recovery rates.
  • Identify key cost drivers with the procurement department for efficient price negotiations with suppliers.
  • Maintain live stock control with the logistics store management department and ensure accurate shared stock data.
  • Guide finance and admin staff to establish proper financial control processes through detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Create budgeting and funding feasibility models.
  • Assist in managing company investments.
  • Handle foreign exchange transactions and negotiations.
  • Oversee the finance administration department to meet strict deadlines.
  • Take charge of accounting-related policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate company performance using key data.
  • Prepare forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Conduct risk evaluations and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Offer insights on challenges, propose enhancements, and provide resolutions.
  • Preserve the organization's value by maintaining data confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with SARS tax regulations.
  • Engage with external auditors for SARS deliverables.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a management accountant or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of cost accounting and reporting.
  • Strong background in risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficient in financial accounting, ERP, and MS Office software.
  • Analytical mindset with aptitude in practical mathematics.
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented problem-solver.
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in English and advantage in Afrikaans.
  • Knowledgeable about tax and VAT regulations.
  • Experience in submitting SARS VAT and EMP returns.
  • High Emotional Intelligence for a dynamic growth environment.
  • Minimum Requirement: BCom / BTech Accounting or Management Accounting.
  • Completed SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles are advantageous.
  • 5 years post-qualification working experience.
