Assistant Accountant/Senior Clerk who is exceptional in Debtors and Creditors, for a Famous and Reputable Wine Estate and Restaurant in Stellenbosch.

This Job Opportunity is great for a person who:

  • Has a Diploma or Degree in Accounting.
  • Has at least 2 years of Accounting Clerk, Debtors, and Creditors experience.
  • Has at least 2 years of accounting work experience at a wine estate or within the wine/restaurant industry.

The purpose of the role is to take full responsibility for the debtors and creditors function and provide assistance to the Head Accountant where necessary.


Duties and responsibilities:

Creditors

  • Process all approved purchase orders daily/when required.
  • Process all Supplier invoices/credit notes based on approved purchase orders and prop.
  • Review and approve Supplier Purchase orders based on the approved budget.
  • Supplier reconciliations, weekly and monthly preparation of payment packs.
  • Lease with suppliers in case of inquiries.
  • Supplier bank processing.
  • Credit card and Petty Cash processing and reconciliation.
  • Calculate monthly creditors' cash flow projection on a rolling twomonth basis.
  • Compile Production Files to be used for stock valuations.
  • Assist Junior Accountant with Asset Register where required.
  • Assist Group Accountant with insurance claims where required.
  • Assist with audit preparation.
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting tasks.

Debtors

  • All Functions relating to Debtors management.
  • Process sales invoices and ensure all supporting documentation is in order, accurate, and complete.
  • Monthly Debtors reconciliation and statements sent to customers for payment.
  • Lease with customers in case of inquiries.
  • Debtors' collection process.
  • Calculate monthly debtors' cash flow projection for a rolling three months.
  • Assist with audit preparation.
