Sales Southern Africa forms part of the Vestas Mediterranean Region, a Sales Business Unit of Vestas Wind Systems A/S, the leading wind turbine manufacturer worldwide. The Sales Manager position is rooted in sales but involves collaborating across various functions in an international setting to execute Vestas' commercial strategy. This role handles sales of high-value and intricate renewable energy projects in a department with a dynamic and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate and pursue sales opportunities in the region.
  • Enhance the bid management process.
  • Negotiate and finalize project contracts.
  • Utilize Vestas' technical and engineering backing, along with wind resource assessments, to facilitate customers in conducting wind site assessments and technical setups.
  • Educate potential clients on the benefits of wind energy and optimization possibilities.
  • Support Vestas' advocacy efforts, marketing, and branding activities by being a 'Vestas Ambassador'.
  • Develop, assess, and report on the sales procedures.
  • Foster customer loyalty by offering optimal support and professionalism throughout the sales phase and aiding through communication and coordination.
  • Collaborate with Vestas' Structured Finance team to assist customers with wind farm financing and introducing suitable financial entities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, business, economics, or related field.
  • Postgraduate studies like an MBA or specialized Finance/Engineering master's program will be advantageous.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Sales or Business Development within relevant markets, such as Southern Africa.
  • Understanding of the Energy Sector and Renewable/Wind Energy Market is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the economic, political, and cultural landscapes of target countries with an open cultural mindset.
