Summary


Maintaining the organization's key accounting records that are used to produce key financial reports and perform the day-to-day recording of transactions.


Key Performance Areas

Operational requirements

Audit / Filling

  • Maintain Cashbook and supplier files for handover to the auditors for financial year end.
  • Provide, ledgers, bank statements and any other financial information that the auditors may request.
  • Establish and maintain a good filing system and investigate archiving of documents in an easy retrieval system.

Receipting / Electronic payments

  • Reconcile various monies received into the operating bank accounts.
  • Check and allocate tenant debit orders and cash deposits made into the operating bank accounts.
  • Identify and allocate all previously unallocated receipts.
  • Day to day payments requested to be processed on the banking system

Creditors

  • Process all supplier invoices
  • Collect supplier statements and reconcile them to the MDA supplier ledger
  • Pay suppliers within the agreed upon time frame

Reporting / Cashbook & Reconciliation

  • Day to day processing of cashbooks.
  • Ensure all tenant receipts are allocated on time in order to close off books/accounts.
  • Ensure all accounts correctly reconciled for month end reports.
  • Receive daily bank statements
  • Process all deposits/ monies received into bank accounts
  • Process all payments and debit orders made from bank account.

Deposit Refunds / Tenant queries

  • Check and confirm correct billing of final water charges and mutation costs on tenant accounts.
  • Refund deposit on the system and calculate interest earned.
  • Prepare payment requisition for deposit to be refunded to the tenant by the 14th on a monthly basis.
  • Assist Client Services with any adjustments to tenants' accounts.
  • Process necessary adjustments or charges to tenants' accounts.
  • Adhere to turnaround times in resolving tenant queries

Community interactions and Initiatives

  • Manage CSI activities in line with OHHA's mainstreaming plans.
  • Attend meetings and events to assist with the guiding of current and new CSI programmes.

Minimum qualifying requirements

  • Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a financial role / environment
