Main purpose of the job:

  • Duties include program management, clinical service delivery, administration, staff management, quality improvement, and skills transfer

Key performance areas:

  • Oversee and quality assure clinic activities
  • Maintain and implement relevant policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines in relation to Primary and Sexual Reproductive Health Care, HIV Testing, Prevention and Treatment, Adherence Support, STI Screening, and Treatment, Family Planning, and TB screening
  • Mentor a clinical and nonclinical team comprising Professional Nurses, Community Health Care Workers, Peer Educators, Data Capturers, and operational staff
  • Oversee peer educator outreach services, including community mobilization, risk assessments, HIV testing, and prevention services
  • Ensure capacity development of all cadres of staff
  • Compile and report on the annual site implementation plan
  • Develop annual budget in consultation with senior management, control and monitor expenditures of the clinic, adhere to relevant finance and procurement policies
  • Analyze data to track progress towards targets and optimize implementation of activities to achieve targets as per donor requirements
  • Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly sitelevel reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain positive relationships with DOH, Donors, Civil Society, and Key Population stakeholders
  • Perform and comply with administrative procedures associated with accurate clinical record keeping and reporting including patient records and confidentiality
  • Contribute to operations research and development of research questions
  • Document lessons learned and best practice
  • Advocate for clinic services and the needs of the interest groups they serve
  • Ensure availability and accessibility of essential medicine for the clinic; and compliant and effective safety, quality control, and recordkeeping of medicine at hand

Required minimum education and training:

Diploma/Degree in Nursing (NQF Level 5):

Registration with the SA Council of Social Service Professionals (SACSSP)

Required minimum work experience:

-
8 to 10 years experience working in an NGO setting/primary health care setting

Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities:

  • Previous experience in Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services and ART adherence support
  • Management or leadership qualification
  • Knowledge of national, provincial, and district health structures
  • Experience working with donorfunded programs and reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of clinical and data management and analysis
  • Able to prioritize own workload and work towards deadlines
  • Proactive, energetic team leader with an ability to adapt to complex situations
  • Selfmotivated, able to work independently, takes initiative, and works aspart of a multidisciplinary team
  • Able to exercise discretion and independent decisionmaking
  • Able to speak African languages
  • Report writing skills
  • Understanding of budget management
  • Strong organizational skills with an accurate approach to work, attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Demands of the job:

  • National and international traveling may be required
  • Working overtime or over weekends will be required from time to time
  • Being contactable after working hours
  • Able to work in a highly pressurized and challenging environment
