Purpose of the internship

UNFPA is seeking an intern to support Population Dynamics within the Strategic Information and Data Management portfolio in South Africa. The intern will assist in program planning, coordination, and reporting to enhance efficiency and achieve program goals, with a specific focus on the Demographic Dividend.

Population Dynamics programme:

  • Provide planning and coordination support on Strategic Information Systems across focus areas including Gender, SRHR, Adolescent and Youth, and Population Development.
  • Assist in producing data on demographic changes, SRHR, gender social norms, and humanitarian data.
  • Help compile background documentation for program summaries, briefing notes, and concept documents.
  • Support the tracking of Population Development work plan activities and provide analysis on current population trends.

Additional Task:

  • Monitor and support the FCDO activity implementation on mainstreaming Demographic Dividend in UNFPA-supported provinces of South Africa.
  • Perform other duties as directed to ensure program success.

Deliverables

  • Monthly report on tasks completed.

Organizational setting and Logistics

The intern will work from the UNFPA office in Pretoria, with necessary facilities provided.

Interns will receive a stipend from UNFPA.
