Santam Specialist Claims Services has an open position for a Claims Handler located in Bellville, Glacier Building.

Job Description

This role demands a dynamic individual with experience in Short Term Insurance, particularly in a Legal, Claims setting, and expertise in third-party indemnification.

The Claims Handler negotiates with competitor insurance companies and specialists, responsible for correct claim settlements and associated financial transactions. Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with competitor insurers' claims specialists for subrogation and liability recovery.
  • Conducting thorough investigations on negligence issues.
  • Addressing escalations and client queries.
  • Coordinating with brokers, underwriters, and others involved in the claims process.
  • Providing exceptional service to internal and external parties.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric qualification.
  • 3-5 years in short-term insurance.
  • Additional insurance-related qualifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in diary management, procedural knowledge, policy knowledge, and legislative understanding.
  • Technically adept in Santam processes.
