The duties and responsibilities of the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will include, but not limited to**:

  • Assist in preparation of M&E sections of reports to donors and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct onsite and offsite data verification of NACOSA implementing partners.
  • Conduct thorough and extensive data verification of all data, including detailed checking of reported data against source documents, to ensure all data captured is accurate and valid.
  • Prepare reports and provide feedback on data quality issues detected.
  • Perform data analysis with the view to provide recommendations on improvement of the program implementation and focus.
  • Work closely with the M&E and programmatic team, to implement systems to improve data use to inform implementation.
  • Attend regular M&E workshops, relevant staff enrichment training sessions, meetings and training courses as required.
  • Provide support to NACOSA implementing partners to ensure timely reporting of all indictors.
  • Assist with training and technical support of NACOSA implementing partners staff on M&E policies, procedures and tools.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation/Research/Public Health or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within an M&E function, with involvement in general administration
  • Experience in monitoring and promoting data quality.
  • Experience in capacity development of field staff in M&E and coordinating the work of others.
  • Good computer skills with work experience using data management systems and MS Office
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fastpaced, high stress environment.
  • Must be a selfstarter and able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong planning, time management, problem solving, and project management skills.
  • Resultsoriented, professional, accountable and proactive
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Valid drivers' license, own reliable vehicle and willingness to travel.
