Key tasks and responsibilities:

Ensure that clients' accounts run smoothly by managing the workflow and timelines strategically, operationally, creatively and financially.

Client relations:

Build strong relationships with clients
Gain a deep understanding of their business
Consider opportunities to engage and meet their needs
Review insights to guide future directions
Ensure that all client requirements are met and that the company is delivering high-quality services or products.

Strategic direction:

Write and contribute to various business plans/strategies.

Operational excellence:

Project manage all client requests
Ensure delivery of campaigns against agreed timelines and milestones of campaign development and execution
Execute integrated campaigns including digital projects such as website design and development, PPC campaigns and social media marketing
Escalate issues to the managing director as needed, to prevent campaign milestones from being missed or the budget from being negatively impacted
Maintain excellent inter-company and interdepartmental communication and knowledge transfer. Collaborating with other departments such as digital/creative to ensure that client needs are being addressed
Proactive management of all project timelines, always ensuring on-time and in-full delivery of projects
Monitor standards by checking all work are on brief, on brand and to the desired quality level before sending it to the client
Exceptional management of client expectations
Proactive and solution-driven

Stakeholder management:

Manage various internal and external stakeholders;
Be the MD's first port of call on all questions relating to the business.

Business development:

Identify new business opportunities and expand the company's client base (e.g tenders or reaching out to new potential clients).
Regularly seeks out ways to add value to the client/agency relationship

Financial management:

Maximise the account's billings and/or income.
Contributes to the good financial management of the business, improving profitability wherever possible
Monitoring all billing procedures carried out by the Account Manager/Executive,
Alerting the MD promptly to any likely changes to billing and income, any potential write-offs, etc.

Team management:

Oversee two members in Account Management; supervise, assist and coach them as they manage clients.
Ensures that timesheets are always up to date and logged
Builds the respect and loyal commitment of team members, the department and the agency as a whole.

Experience and qualifications:

Matric
Postgraduate degree or national diploma, majoring in communication, marketing, advertising or other related Business Sciences
8-10 years experience in brand management/marketing management/account Management

Advantageous:

Experience with Chase
Brand management - especially in the FMCG environment
Market research experience
Good understanding of the digital platforms and environments
