Our retail client based in Durban has an opening within their finance department for a Bookkeeping and Payroll Admininstrator.

Description:

  • Processing cashbook Journals for the daily sales
  • Creditors(Purchases) and Debtors(Tax Invoices)
  • Monthly recoveries (Utility, Rent and Adcock expenses)
  • General Ledger entries
  • Pastel bank manager
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Income Journals
  • Payments and Audits
  • Income statement entries
  • Balance sheet entries
  • Prepare/Analyse monthly Financial Statements(AFS)
  • VAT Preparations and submissions on efilling and EFT on ebilling
  • Processing shortages for salaries
  • Petty cash entries
  • Weekly Betting Tax Reports and EFT
  • BEE Schedules, verifications and Audits
  • Payments to suppliers
  • Payments on Lost and outstanding betting tickets
  • Management Accounts for Body Corporate
  • Management Accounts for Commercial Properties
  • Inter Company Accounts

Stock

  • Review of Purchase orders and GRV's
  • Review of daily purchases
  • Review of daily Sales
  • Review of daily stock sheets
  • Journal entries for stock shortages
  • Journal entries of inventories
  • Journal entries of daily sales
  • Journal entries of cost of sales
  • Basic Bookkeeping functions

Payroll

  • Importing Earnings & Deductions onto payroll system
  • Processing of weekly/monthly wages run input and EFT
  • Process statutory returns (PAYE, SDL, and UIF)
  • Process SARS EMP201 on efilling and process EFT via ebilling
  • Input Medical Aid, Gap cover, pension and EFT
  • Processing Payroll journals onto pastel for monthly financial reports
  • Process garnish orders and third party payment

Education Profile:

  • Matric
  • Bookkeeping Diploma essential
  • Experienced Bookkeeper (+5 years) with basic accounting knowledge
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Pastel experience
  • Professionalism and Organisational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Produce work with a high level of accuracy
  • Strong multitasking abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliability and strong work ethic
