RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Develop and ensure the optimal functioning and execution of TuksSport coaching philosophy as it relates to TuksRugby.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching strategy that is aligned with the club's, team's and/or individual's performance plans, periodisation, goals and objectives.
  • Create and execute effective training programmes to enhance the athletes' performance, including but not limited to developing technical and tactical skills.
  • Design and coordinate the Implementation of coaching best practices and protocols as agreed upon with the team of coaches and other technical personnel within TuksRugby, for the individuals within the highperformance squads, based on their specific positions, disciplines and needs.
  • Develop, influence and maintain relationships with external, provincial and national coaches and federations in order to contribute and influence the sport through best practices, shared knowledge and creating opportunities for athlete and coach development pathways
  • Be responsible for full coaching duties of UP-Tuks 1 (Men) team for varsity and local league competitions and matches.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the following area:
  • Sport Specific coaching at a club/tertiary or provincial or national level
OR

  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in the following area:
  • Sport Specific coaching at a club/tertiary or provincial or national level
  • World Rugby Level 2 Coaching Certificate
  • Registered as a coach with a sport code specific union Valid driver's licenceADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • BokSmart Accreditation;
  • Criminal record certificate;
  • Sexual offender's clearance certificate;
  • Child offender clearance certificate.

  • Sport specific knowledge;

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Fulltime position
  • Will be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Variable, outdoor and indoor sporting facilities both onsite and offsite, and some office based
  • Ability to carry equipment, walk to different venues (including hills or stairs), and sufficiently demonstrate techniques of the specified sport.
  • Will be required to ensure compliance and/or accreditation with any regulatory bodies or affiliations as required to perform duties or as requested by the linemanger or TuksSport
  • Reporting to Head of Programme TuksRugby.
Please note this position includes an _all-inclusive remuneration package_ commensurate with the incumbent's level of appointment, qualification and experience.

The incumbent will be appointment on a fixed-term contract with the necessary performance clauses clearly stipulated.
