We are looking for an experienced IT Manager for a Renowned Group of Medical Practices in Pretoria.


The organisation is at the beginning of a change curve that is driven by the IT platforms, with the first aim to develop and offer solutions to the group that will limit the use of paper, drive efficiencies, and position the organisation for the future.


The IT Manager will be instrumental in the decision-making process to position the Company for the future and provide guidance that will result in the management of the risk and increase in efficiencies.

To excel in this role you need boundless energy, resilience, and above all, you need to be passionate about technology, innovation, relationships with your clients, and solving big problems.

You will be involved in a variety of technical solutions in the business that is not always IT solutions, but that add measurable value to the entire group.

The IT Manager is a pivotal role in the Company.

This person will be responsible for the operational stability of the group, as well as governance and all technical decisions.

The incumbent must be able to balance a healthy degree of conservatism, with a desire to continuously improve through modern technology.

The IT team will be involved with the selection and maintenance of all clinical platforms from a technological perspective as well.

The incumbent will play an active role in the integration of several platforms in the business and will directly be responsible for this project from a business analyst and integration perspective.


The IT Manager must have the ability to maintain business-as-usual, whilst implementing new technologies and innovations, always keeping the risk of the organisation in mind.

The IT team must run the business, whilst absorbing changes into the ecosystem responsibly, but without being a roadblock.

The role offers significant opportunities for implementing a modern and evolving technology stack, cloud-first, serving hybrid working conditions, with some investment in multimedia services, which are increasingly taking centre stage.


Key Role:

Reporting to the COO and constantly taking the company strategy and aligning the IT strategy with it.


Work with the IT team (internal IT Reps and external providers) in developing, implementing and executing the Company's IT strategy.

Responsible for management and governance of the IT operations function.


Ensuring the positive impact of technology within the group is maximized through support, quality management, and continuous improvement of services.

Developing and sustaining an excellent IT operations team

Competencies:

Knowledge and Skills

IT governance (COBIT, ISO standards, risk management, etc.).

Information security.

IT service management.

General management (staff, financial and procurement, operations, contracting)

Project management

Data analysis and report writing

Documentation

Presentation skills

Risk management and risk mitigation

Stakeholder management

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years' experience in an IT Management Role

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field

IT Service Management qualifications and experience (e.g., ITIL)

Information security experience

General management experience and/or qualifications (e.g., MDP) will be beneficial.


Exposure to and implementation of Microsoft 365 and related cloud-based tools with experience in implementing SSO - Single Sign On.


Experience with a wide range of architectures including cloud, computing technology, hosting, networking, communication, end-user computing, database development and reporting, and business systems.

Project management experience/qualification advantageous.

Experience in business process re-engineering and business integration projects important

Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous, especially considering radiology and oncology services.

Multimedia exposure advantageous, e.g., video conference, broadcasting, and production.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Manage communications and working relationships between IT and other departments within the organization, and multiple outside IT service providers


Ensure the IT Operations organisational structure is optimised to deliver services, with the right skills and support for the team.


Ensure IT infrastructure is correctly deployed and optimised to support business according to agreed principles (e.g., performance, availability, and capacity).

Ensure Business Systems are resourced with appropriate services.


Broadly ensure customers receive appropriate levels of support and training that exceptions are properly managed, and customer satisfaction is maintained in line with a strong customer service ethic.


Governance:

Design and manage appropriate information security controls in line with group objectives, compliance requirements, and existing environmental risks.
