The role requires advanced statistical and evaluation study design skills and an interest in public health, behavioural economics and/or programme evaluation.

Key Focus Areas and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Strategy & Experience Design to advance the Theory of Change and Evidence frameworks.
  • Contribute to the dynamic learning and evidence agenda
  • Develop and manage the "right fit" methodology and plans for tracking impact and showing evidence of impact across all platform projects (including the approach and implementation):
  • Identify and prioritise research questions
  • Identify appropriate indicators, qualitative and quantitative measurement strategies and plans
  • Adjust measurement strategies and plans as needed
  • Prepare and facilitate MEL workshops and meetings
  • Build and develop a strong MERL internal MERL team, and recruit and manage external research partners to provide additional capacity where needed.
  • Build close relationships between the Data Science and MERL teams to ensure there's alignment on project inputs, outputs and outcomes towards the desired impact.
  • Provide guidance to partner and internal implementation teams on the implementation of the Evidence framework in specific contexts.
  • Develop and maintain programme "learning agendas" to explore decisionrelevant questions, and support the development and implementation of program decision frameworks.
  • Build the evidence base for the platform approach towards the development of a clear investment model for Governments and partners.
  • Contribute to research partners' preparation of study protocol and IRB submissions.
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the platform incorporates best practice Monitoring and Evaluation features and tools.
  • Lead development of submissions to scientific and practice conferences (e.g., abstracts, posters, panel discussions, and oral presentations)

Desired skills and experience

  • Minimum of a Masters degree in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy or any other relevant fields (with experience in the health domain)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the field
  • Demonstrable Monitoring and Evaluations experience
  • Experience in managing clinical trials, preferably in the area of Digital/Mobile Health
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and an excellent understanding of the implementation of Digital and Mobile Health
  • Statistical and evaluation study design skills
