We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual to join us as a Senior Sushi Chef. This role requires someone with a passion for sushi and Japanese cuisine, as well as previous experience in a similar role. Besides preparing a rich sushi menu, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen staff, ensuring quality and standards, and providing exceptional customer service.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric, Culinary Diploma preferred
  • +/- 4 years experience in a senior chef role
  • Work experience in Asian cuisine
  • Good knowledge of sushi types and techniques
  • Own transport with valid drivers license
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Team player

  • Availability for varied shifts

DUTIES:

  • Creating and preparing a variety of sushi dishes
  • Preparing appetizers, soups, and salads
  • Leading kitchen staff in head chef's absence
  • Coordinating with wait staff
  • Providing guidance and training to junior kitchen staff
  • Supervising food preparation and presentation
  • Overseeing kitchen stock and ingredients
  • Reducing waste and managing budget
  • Maintaining kitchen organization
  • Ensuring hygiene and safety standards

HOURS:

  • 5 Days a week (Shift work)
