RPO Recruitment is excited to be hiring a Construction Foreman specializing in residential construction and renovation to join our client's team.

As a Construction Foreman, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating operations at residential construction and renovation sites.

We are seeking a friendly and experienced individual with a strong background in residential projects.

As a key point of contact for both workers and supervisors, you will ensure that projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Your leadership skills and friendly demeanor will create a positive work environment where collaboration and effective communication thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Open and close construction site daily (07:00 17:00 minimum)
  • Study, understand and implement architectural, engineering and designer construction drawings
  • Manage employees and subcontractors; ability to encourage and inspire team members, as well as to discipline when and where necessary
  • Keep accurate and uptodate records (Health and Safety File, Environmental File, Attendance Register, Job Cards, etc)
  • Report directly to Site Manager

Requirements:

  • South African Citizen or Work Permit
  • Degree or certificate in Construction Management or Matric Certificate (Grade 12) with 3 years verifiable experience in the field of Construction Management with references
  • Strong communication skills able to speak, read and write in English is a must
  • Strong mathematical skills able to measure, scale, convert, etc
  • Able to read and understand construction drawings
  • Ability to setout, check and verify workmanship throughout the construction process, and to snag issues for remediation
  • Ability to manage employees and subcontractors
  • Ability to select and supervise employees so that they are committed to quality and expeditious work
  • Ability to work with the design team and other professionals
  • Ability to address conflict situations
  • Ability to implement and enforce the company Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Policy and Procedure
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
  • Flexible schedule where and when the program requires
  • Experience in the engineering, architectural or quantity surveying fields a plus
