  • To coordinate and control the quality of the work activities of a Creditors team accountable for the accurate and timely payment of creditors, contributing to managerial decision-making
  • Key performance areas:
  • Manage and review purchase of foreign currency monthly.
  • Monthly review of EDI Cargowise Creditors balances ensuring completeness, correct due dates and accuracy before.
  • Manage SARS Customs duty/vat credit limits daily.
  • Ensure all payments (especially customs SARS) are processed on various due dates, oversee, review, release and authorise daily as well as monthly.
  • Conduct regular reviews of vendor database, resolving problems in relation to invoice payments and reconciling complex monthend accounts.
  • Ensure creditor Masterfile changes are properly executed and signed off.
  • Report to management on outstanding issues, whilst highlighting potential creditors problems.
  • Creating procedures and policies that ensure timely payment to creditors per agreed credit terms.
  • Coordinate and assist with the internal and external accounts payable audit process.

  • Performance Management, Training and Development, Mentoring and Coaching

  • Inherent Requirements
  • Qualifications required:
  • BCom Accounting or Financial Management Degree
  • Skills and experience required:
  • Up to 5 years of experience in a similar role, with at least 3 years operational leadership / specialist experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the forwarding and clearing industry, Incoterms and customs requirements
  • Supervise and lead a team of four creditors clerks.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Deadline driven, time and priority management
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Good business acumen for problemsolving.
  • Assist with training of new staff.
  • Assist with upskilling of existing staff and ensure prescribed processes are followed.
