Job Description:
As a Software Delivery Programme Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of multiple software projects. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget, while fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Delivery Oversight: Manage end-to-end delivery of multiple software projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget. Develop and implement project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize a strong technical background in both data management and software delivery to guide project decisions and technology solutions. Ensure the integration of best practices in data handling and software development.
  • Resource Management: Lead resource allocation and staffing, determining appropriate assignments based on project demands and individual expertise. Monitor team dynamics and make adjustments as necessary to maintain productivity and morale.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Foster a collaborative work environment, mentor team members, and provide guidance and feedback. Ensure that the team remains well-versed in current technologies and methodologies.
  • Budget Management: Develop and track project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and expenses stay within financial limits. Provide regular financial reports to senior management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain clear and continuous communication with all project stakeholders, including IT and business leaders, to ensure expectations are met and adjusted as projects evolve.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Encourage innovation and seek out process improvements that can lead to better project outcomes. Facilitate the adoption of new technologies and methodologies within the team.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Software Delivery Manager or similar role with a strong track record in managing large-scale software projects.
  • Robust technical background with expertise in data management systems and software development.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in team management and resource allocation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. A Masters degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading multiple teams, with a total team size of over 100 personnel.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing financial budgets, with prior responsibility for budgetary control of around R100 million.
