We are looking for qualified candidates to join us as the Supplier Quality Manager within the Quality Department. Reporting to the Head of Quality, this position is based in Dunnottar.

Job Purpose:

The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance of purchased parts delivered to Gibela facilities. This role involves managing the Incoming Inspectors' team to maintain consistent, accurate, and timely completion of incoming inspection activities. Additionally, overseeing the Serial SQ Engineers' team to promptly implement comprehensive supplier non-conformity feedback, containment, and corrective actions to uphold the parts supply. The SQ Manager will also handle Participating units (PU) quality, Supplier Quality Warranty, and Supplier Product Quality Development (SPQD) management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with SPQD and Incoming Inspectors to define and register Control Plans in the ERP system
  • Ensure availability of inspection instructions/checklists for Incoming Inspectors
  • Establish and maintain the process for record-keeping at Incoming Inspection
  • Ensure compliance with procedures among Incoming Inspectors for inspection, tool calibration, record storage, non-conformities characterization, and ERP transactions
  • Initiate special process inspections or lab testing externally as needed
  • Manage supplier nonconformities proactively to secure the Manufacturing line
  • Facilitate efficient Supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformities
  • Hold suppliers accountable for Cost of Non-Quality and oversee invoicing of suppliers (CONQ)
  • Coordinate supplier retrofits and remedial actions, along with storing vendor work reports and validations
  • Drive prompt and accurate identification and rectification of non-conformity root causes by challenging suppliers
  • Manage Supplier waivers effectively for the Site
  • Conduct daily meetings to prioritize tasks and manage workload
  • Lead the SQ Serial, Incoming Inspection, and Supplier Quality Warranty teams hierarchically
  • Oversee the performance management cycle of the team
  • Prepare and deliver Site SQ Serial reports based on defined KPIs and motivate teams/suppliers to achieve targets
  • Manage Supplier Quality Performances and present Reports to top management on quality issues and action plans
  • Implement Supplier Quality risk management and mitigation plans
  • Publish KPIs, identify areas for performance enhancement, and lead Return of Experience activities
  • Contribute to site quality improvement initiatives and participate in reviews, audits, and Continuous Improvement endeavors
  • Integrate Return of Experience (REX) effectively with SPQD teams for upcoming projects

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Engineering or Quality
  • Proficiency in Quality tools and industrial Quality processes
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Ability to work autonomously in a matrix organization
  • Strong analytical skills
