Job Description:

  • This is a specialist role that allows you to promote effective Employee Relations practice among employees and the employer. In this role you will ensure that systems, policies and procedures are adhered to.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Attending to disciplinary and grievance inquiries as prescribed by the policies and procedures
  • Represent the company at CCMA and schedule role players for arbitration hearings
  • Continuously liaise with the Employee Relations Coordinator and Senior Human Resources Manager on system operations activities
  • Ensure cooperation and teamwork between team and stakeholders by delivering an efficient service
  • Communicate employee relations process challenges to necessary stakeholders to ensure that challenges are resolved
  • Identify potential conflict situations, identify root causes and propose corrective action
  • Control discipline and ensure fair decisions regarding Employee Relations by following procedures and ensuring that at stakeholders are well versed in the procedures
  • Prepare and submit adhoc reports for Human Resources Management or other information
  • Conduct and/or participate in departmental forums
  • Monitoring the Employee Relations process regularly to ensure conformance to and understanding of standards and procedures by clients

This role is in the Human Resource Department and is at a D1 level reporting to the Employee Relations Coordinator.
**Qualifications

  • You will need the following**:
  • NQF 6 National Diploma in Employee Relations/Human Resources Management or Bachelor's degree
  • Computer literate for the role including SAP HR
  • Valid driving license code 08

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years operational experience in Employee Relations in the Mining/ Process environment
  • CCMA experience will be highly advantageous
  • Experience working with ER Navigator is advantageous

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Scope of knowledge
  • Good problemsolving skills
  • High standard of ethics and professional practice
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • High level of systems aptitude and exceptional computer literacy
  • Knowledge of labour legislation
  • Drivers License is highly advantageous
