Criteria:

  • In depth knowledge of the FMCG market
  • Strong communication skills, able to negotiate comfortably at all levels

  • Ability to plan, prepare and achieve sales budgets
  • In possession of an unendorsed valid driver's license
  • Able to work after hours and on weekends for trade shows & promotions where necessary

Daily functions:

  • To actively market the basket of company products to the Hardware sector, with the purpose of increasing market share, whilst providing excellent customer service
  • Call on existing Consumer customers and grow their sales volumes in the Cape Town area
  • Develop new business
  • Plan and implement promotional activity to launch new products / focus on existing products
  • Achieve monthly set budgets to meet targets
  • Achieve monthly GP expectations
  • Prepare weekly / monthly sales reports
  • Conduct competitor surveys as necessary
  • Liaise with customers, including assisting with customer complaints, monitoring stock levels, presenting product training
  • Ensure merchandising standards are maintained & maximize in store displays
  • Utilize all relevant POS & stands available
  • Participate in trade shows
  • Manage stock levels and ensure range representation in stores
  • Communicate price increases timeously
  • Visit customers in all areas as per agreed call cycle
