Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect items from a warehouse or pick up point
  • Maintain schedule plan the route to ensure timely delivery of goods and load the vehicle to match this route
  • Contact customers and update tracking systems and delivery records
  • Make deliveries, give invoices and get customer signatures
  • Record mileage and fuel and return undelivered items
  • Perform regular safety checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition before and after each trip
  • Adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations to avoid accidents or incidents
  • Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of vehicles including repairs as needed
  • Always interact with clients professionally, handle customer grievances and other issues with care and timely
  • Report any incidents or accidents to management immediately
  • Ensure that the vehicle is fuelled and ready for use
  • Assisting with Picking Internet Cash Sales driver orders
  • Assisting at Health Matrix Lab when required
  • Assisting with packing of stock when required
  • Assist in warehouse when deliveries are complete for the day
  • Adhoc duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Matric
  • Proven work experience as a Driver
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Good knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations and city routes
  • Ability to effectively operate a van
  • Excellent driving skills and the ability to navigate unknown routes fluently
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Excellent timemanagement skills
  • Flexibility in working hours the ability to work during weekends and evenings if required
  • Physical fitness to lift heavy goods when necessary

License/Certification:

  • Valid driving licence (required)
