Job Summary:

The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic Junior Sales Representative, who will help candi to lead the solar revolution.

They will be a key member of the sales team and should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and sales skills to handle clients during the early stages of the sales process.

Depending on their performance in the below responsibilities, this job will become a Business Developer role.

Specifically, the job requires taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

Inquiry & Lead Management:

  • Respond to client inquiries and provide exceptional customer service, including company and product information.
  • Qualify, prioritise and convert leads into sales opportunities.
  • Generate leads through various channels, including all forms of prospecting, coldcalling, referrals, and networking events.

Sales and Market intelligence:

  • Analyse sales metrics to report to the sales team whether current sales strategies are effective and suggest how they may be adapted.
  • Continuously gather market intelligence, identify trends and competitor activities to support business development efforts.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the solar industry, including products, services, and competitors, to effectively educate clients and offer tailored solutions.

Sales and Sales Support:

  • Generate sales proposals and interact with the client to follow up or request additional information.
  • Contribute to the sales target achievement by creating and maintaining a sales pipeline of small and simple deals.
  • Monitor and update the sales pipeline and the customer database, ensuring that all information is accurate and uptodate.
  • Perfect the sales tools and sales material in collaboration with marketing
  • Occasionally assist in driving the sales process to guarantee a deal's success working with stakeholders to clear technical, administrative, regulatory and financial aspects.

Cape Town or Johannesburg or Durban (combined with working from home)

Required skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or a related field.
  • 12 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively articulate complex solutions to nonexperts.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment, multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be very comfortable working in the digital realm, using tools such as Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office, CRMs and other tools such as Asana, Slack, etc.
  • Knowledge of the solar industry, solar products, assetbased finance and project development processes is a plus.
  • Written and spoken English required, Afrikaans or African languages is a plus.
