Description
FLOCERT is looking for a people-orientated, service and business-driven Senior Certification Analyst.

The Senior Certification Analyst will support, report to, and deputise the Certification Manager who is responsible for all certification related aspect for FLOCERT ́s Africa and Middle East team.


The person should be a dynamic team leader of a staff members, responsible for effectively coordinating and managing FLOCERT's certification and other services to organisations within assigned countries.

The ability to support customers through their needs, and availability to travel to assigned countries, are core requirements.

Attention to detail, willingness to learn, as well as acting as a mentor for other analysts is essential for this position.


Your responsibilities

  • Perform evaluations of audit reports against Fairtrade standards
  • Perform Fairtrade audits of customers in assigned countries in Africa
  • Send certification decisions
  • Enter and maintain accurate and timely data on all platforms and for all data sets assigned to you as a data custodian
  • Communicate actively with applicants and certified customers and assist them with all necessary information
  • Actively participate in the annual audit planning for assigned countries
  • Instruct customers on Fairtrade requirements
  • Identify special needs of Key Accounts and act as account manager
  • Answer certification related questions
  • Answer National Fairtrade Organisation, Fairtrade Africa and Fairtrade International requests
  • Assist in the selection, evaluation and training of auditors
  • Assist in constant improvement of certification processes
  • Participate in certificationrelated projects as a team member
  • Make certification decisions as needed and requested as a nonsenior certifier

Your qualifications, experience and skills

"Must haves"

  • At least two years of related professional work experience in an office and customer orientated environment
  • 1 year experience in certification systems (e.g. organic, FSC, MSC, SA8000, ISO 14001 etc) in particular with ISO 65 accreditation or 2 years related business experience
  • Fluent in French and English oral and written
  • Flexible, proactive and hardworking work style
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in dealing with different cultures
  • Strong dedication towards customer service
  • Permission to work in South Africa and ability to travel internationally

"Nice to have"

  • Fluent in other languages commonly spoken amongst Fairtrade certified clients in Africa (e.g. Swahili, Afrikaans, Portuguese, Arabic etc.)
  • Experience with customer relations
  • Technical knowledge of the Fairtrade products traded out of Africa
  • Business experience in international trade
