The IIE's Varsity College, Waterfall National Office has a vacancy for a Student Wellness Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to the IIE VC and IIE MSA Student Wellness Managers and the IIE Vega Wellness Navigators to ensure alignment of events, initiatives and community engagement projects across all campuses.
  • Manage the campus Student Wellness Managers and Wellness Navigators to establish biannual calendars, themes and events applicable to campus demands and student behaviour.
  • Continually review the Student Wellness Managers and Wellness Navigators processes and procedures are in place to ensure outputs are effective and impactful.
  • Work closely with the National portfolio heads to ensure alignment and transparency.
  • Ensure weekly and monthly reporting structures and deadlines are met.
  • Drive visibility and awareness for aspects pertaining to the student wellness across the brand.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community outreach organisations that will contribute to the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) campaign of the brand. (KHUMO Project)
  • Manage and monitor the annual Corporate Social Investment (CSI) implementation strategies impact.
  • Positioning of The IIE's Varsity College, The IIE MSA and The IIE Vega as brands with leading student experience and community engagement campaigns.
  • Manage the National corporate social investment projects to ensure projects are implemented across campuses.
  • Monitor the National CSI budget and report on successful outcomes.
  • Ensure communication is disseminated to highlight CSI success.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with organisations that will contribute to an improved student experience of the brand.
  • Compile and maintain National and campus Student Wellness Managers / Wellness Navigator budgets.
  • Compile monthly Student Wellness / Wellness Navigator team reports.
  • Establish National events in collaboration with campus teams and National portfolio managers.
  • Monitor and manage IIE assist queries to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.'
  • Manage communication strategies.
  • Ad Hoc admin reports needed by either the National office, The IIE, or ADvTECH.
  • To provide support to the Student Wellness Manager and Student Welness Navigators team via mentoring, performance management and development.
  • To conduct monthly individual campus meetings with the Head: Student Experience / equivalent to ensure transparency and consistency across campuses.
  • To conduct monthly team meetings with the Student Wellness Managers and Wellness Navigators.
  • To have monthly one on ones with individual team members.
  • Collaborate with campus teams to develop programmes and initiatives that will lead to an improved student experience on campus.

Competencies required:

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate to a range of audiences in a way that communication is clear, concise, specific and accurate and accessible to the target audience.
  • Interpersonal skills characterised by tact and diplomacy and an ongoing ability to effectively manage a team that is spread across the country.
  • Capacity to get others to follow by example and the ability to manage matrix management and communication structures.
  • High delivery ability, demonstrated capacity to organise own work and work against tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work constructively as part of and with a team, display initiative and work strategically and independently with limited supervision.
  • Proven record of managing projects to a successful conclusion.
  • Able to acquire new skills to keep up with new technologies and or new knowledge areas within relevant disciplines.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of Advanced Diploma or Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7). Postgraduate qualification advantageous.

Minimum Work Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years Student Wellness and counselling related management experience.
