Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with internal and external sales teams to understand their material requirements
  • Source new suppliers and maintain relationships with existing ones
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and ontime delivery of materials
  • Continuously monitor supplier performance and take corrective action as necessary
  • Stay uptodate with market trends and new materials that may be beneficial to the company
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and increase efficiencies in the procurement process
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of materials
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and reports
  • Participate in supplier audits and evaluations
  • Knowledge of the PPE industry will be an advantage

Requirements:

  • Matric (Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field will be an advantage)
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management principles
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software systems
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with suppliers and attend industry events
