We are looking for a candidate to take a prominent role in the financial consulting and advisory unit. This role entails leading transaction execution, driving business development, securing financing, and spearheading corporate initiatives. One of the key aspects of this role is overseeing intricate transactions and projects across different phases, from feasibility assessment to procurement, negotiations, execution, and financial closure. You will receive support from the internal team and external advisors throughout the project lifecycle. Previous experience and knowledge in project finance transactions and public-private partnerships are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years in M&A, corporate finance, private equity, or project finance
  • Degree in Business Science, Commerce focusing on financial mathematics, accounting, statistics, or financially-oriented BEng (Engineering)
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to recognize financial principles, detect inconsistencies in data, and employ sound business judgment
  • Experience in African or emerging markets is advantageous

Criteria

Key responsibilities will involve:

  • Providing financial counsel to private and public entities on projects, particularly project finance and corporate finance initiatives
  • Leading a diverse transaction advisory team on project finance projects
  • Conducting risk assessments and proposing strategies to manage project-specific risks
  • Compiling reports, evaluating feasibilities, and participating in negotiations and presentations
  • Collaborating with the financial modelling team on project finance models and analyses
  • Assisting in project finance arrangements and due diligence
  • Coordinating the transaction advisory team for project execution and closure
  • Developing financial advisory and project management capabilities
  • Contributing to business development activities to expand project opportunities
  • Supporting general project management as needed
