The role in a nutshell
We're looking for an exceptional Legal Support Specialist to join our busy Legal, Risk & Compliance team.

You will be based at Luno's Cape Town or Johannesburg office (depending on your preference) and will be an integral part of a growing team that supports the business globally.

You will be a
specialist, with your mission involving:

  • Providing timely and accurate responses to law enforcement and regulatory requests across multiple geographies consistent with Luno's data protection policies and procedures, customer commitments and applicable laws.
  • Tracking and reporting on data relevant to your role.
  • Assist with other adhoc tasks pertaining to law enforcement and regulatory requests.
  • Developing and maintaining strong internal working relationships with other Legal team members and with Luno's Compliance and Financial Crimes teams.

The ideal Lunaut for this role, will have:

  • A tertiary qualification, preferably an LLB degree.
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent task prioritisation and timemanagement skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A pragmatic approach to resolving problems.
  • The ability to take ownership and ensure delivery of results.

'In your first six months, you will'

  • Take ownership of responding to the majority of the information requests Luno receives from law enforcement and regulatory bodies globally.
  • Gain a detailed understanding of Luno's systems and processes used when responding to information requests and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of these.
  • Become an integral member of Luno's Legal team, taking ownership for the majority of correspondence with law enforcement, in particular, and any requests they have related to Luno.
