**Job Description

  • The Role**We are seeking a
    Head of Asset Management who will define the Anglo American Asset Management Framework and lead & drive improved lifecycle performance of assets in Anglo American


This role will be working across Anglo American's global operations and can be based UK, South Africa, Australia, Chile, Peru or Brazil.

Regular international travel will be required.

Key role requirements:

  • Manage a team of Asset Management professionals.
  • Asset Strategy Development: Develop a comprehensive asset management strategy that aligns with the organization's goals. This involves determining the appropriate balance between asset performance, risk, and cost.
  • Asset Acquisition: Participate in the selection and acquisition of new assets, ensuring that they meet the organization's needs and fit into the overall asset portfolio.
  • Asset Maintenance: Oversee the AM specialists who support the organisation from a reliability, condition monitoring, Work Management, Shutdown perspective to ensure that assets are properly cared for and remain in good working condition.
  • Lifecycle Management: Assist Head of Fleet and Head of Plant in planning for the entire lifecycle of assets, from acquisition to disposal. This includes making decisions about when to retire and replace assets and how to dispose of them in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Ensure that AA's physical assets contribute to the overall success of the company, by optimizing performance, minimizing risks, and controlling costs throughout the equipment lifecycle.
**Qualifications

  • Formal Qualifications*
  • An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline
  • Engineering related. Postgraduate qualification in Asset Management would be an advantage.

Role-specific knowledge/Requirements

  • International best practice in the asset management field particularly as applied to the resources industry.
  • Key principles and elements of the Operating Model (Operational Planning, Work Management, and Feedback) and understanding of how to maintain its integrity on site.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business drivers & levers linked to the extractive industry or other adjacent heavy industry context.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Reliability engineering principles.
  • Development and implementation of integrated asset management solutions to maximise value for the entire minetomarket value chain to ensure productivity, a safe and sustainable working environment and delivery against plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior people leadership role within a complex technical environment, including the coordination of knowledge sharing across a discipline, managing workload and reviewing the work of others to ensure consistency with task requirement.
  • Indepth understanding of the mining value chain to identify and execute on opportunities where technical asset management expertise can enhance business performance, specifically asset management processes and systems.
  • Expertise in capital expenditure planning in a large, complex organisation.
