Our Cape Town office is looking for a Through-The-Line (TTL) art director for a maternity cover to add their creative digital and ATL skills, delivering and encouraging award-winning work, from conceptualising integrated campaigns through to execution, exceeding client expectations.

You will be a digital creative all-star, with a solid background in ATL. Ready to take on the world of e-commerce and digital design.

You have the skill set to capture promotional excitement and breakthrough designs for multiple media platforms such as web banners, newsletters, social media and website elements, whilst ensuring that the ATL elements are just as exciting and ground-breaking.


Minimum relevant experience and skills/attributes required:
An eye for detail, ability to work well under pressure, as well as being up to date with the latest digital marketing trends, techniques and technologies are essential requirements
Working closely with the copywriter to generate creative ideas and concepts to fulfill the client's brief
Producing sketches or 'storyboards' (television) or 'roughs' or 'scamps' (print) to communicate ideas to the client
Gaining an understanding of the target audience and business which the advert is targeted at
Meeting with the creative director and account managers before presenting ideas to clients
Pitching ideas to clients
Briefing other members of the creative team
Commissioning photographers, artists or filmmakers to work on projects
Visiting and assessing locations for potential shoots
Working on location
Attending meetings at production houses and with other directors
Working in editing suites to oversee the finished product

  • Advising new creatives, reviewing their 'books' and managing new teams on placement with the agency

Technical skills/knowledge:

TTL art direction and design
Carry out visual and conceptual skills from initial brief to final artwork
Strong digital design portfolio
Strong conceptual ability preferred
Great presentation skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Committed collaborative team player
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Proficient in:
w eb design, Adobe Creative Cloud and InVision, with particular emphasis on Adobe AfterEffects
App and web design
Animation
Digital design
Social media posts
Web banners
UX and UI design advantageous, but not essential

FIGMA
Photoshop

Experience:

At least three years' experience as a TTL Art Director in an advertising agency a must
Experience with ATL art direction and design
Experience with web design; designing of e-commerce websites; animations and social media design
Experience in high-volume environments with fast turnarounds preferred

Qualification:

A completed tertiary qualification in digital edsign
