Job Purpose:

The main purpose of an HR and Payroll Coordinator is to advise, oversee and manage aspects of human resources and payroll functions within an organisation.

This includes tasks such as onboarding, training, benefits administration, payroll coordination and checking, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

The HR and Payroll Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the organisation's workforce and ensuring smooth operations related to employee management and compensation.


Key Responsibilities:

PAYROLL AND LEAVE ADMINISTRATION

  • Salary administration for two SA companies and four UK companies.
  • Prepare input of payroll monthly which includes any changes, deductions, new employees, resignations, transfers, medical insurance (Momentum), contracts, and overtime.
  • Prepare additions, terminations, or changes on medical insurance (Momentum).
  • Draw costing reports.
  • Prepare employee letters based on payroll changes.
  • Submit payroll input to payroll service providers by agreedupon deadline dates.
  • Check and sign off monthend report checking reports received from the Payroll service provider. Send reports to directors for signature before submitting to the Payroll service provider and finance for payment.
  • Store final monthend reports on the server.
  • Attend to payroll queries received from employees and/or line management.
  • Attend to leave administration queries.
  • Run reports on attendance for management as required.

HR ADMINISTRATION

  • Provide support to employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Maintain employee records.
  • Link new employees to performance management on PaySpace.
  • Activate the performance management process for quarterly performance reviews.
  • Draw reports on Payspace as requested by line managers.
  • Input job title, reporting line, or cost centre changes on PaySpace, as required.
  • Assist People Partner Talent with onboarding and induction of new employees.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Coordinate training with service providers and make the necessary logístical arrangements.
  • Collate and save certificates and attendance registers.
  • Provide the receptionist with attendance registers so she can record these.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric certificate required
  • A tertiary qualification in HR / Commerce / Behavioural Science or a related field is advantageous
  • 2 year's experience in HR required
  • Proficient in payroll processingKnowledge of PaySpace is highly advantageous
