Senior Specialist: Enterprise Risk

Role purpose:


Conduct risk assessments at an operational, tactical, and principal level with EHODs, MEs, and Chiefs across Vodacom Group to ensure that all critical and high business risks have been identified and sufficiently mitigated.

To develop and promote strategic plans to guide further risk management implementations.
To identify and communicate new and emerging risk trends.
To maintain and manage the risk management system. This includes validating the information and maintaining user records and access.

To create risk management awareness, including training, in the company on the Vodacom Risk Management Framework and Policy and other related matters.

To identify, manage and train risk champions in terms of their role and responsibilities, the Vodacom Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Policy as well as the risk management system.

To attend and participate in risk management working groups and projects.
To maintain a working relationship with Group Internal Audit, C as well as other assurance providers.

To maintain a working relationship with other key stakeholders to ensure that the Company risk profile is up to date and relevant.

This includes the company organogram that is used for planning and capturing risk information on the risk management system.


Provide input into the quarterly Risk Management Committee meeting pack, and other relevant forums, such as the Audit and Risk Committee and Vodafone, as and when required.


Ensuring all Risk policies and procedures are up to date and relevant, including all content on the Business Risk Management website.

Maintain up-to-date risk templates in line with the corporate identity, ensuring all presentations are compliant.
To create position papers with regard to risk management for the organization.
Maintain all the requirements for the Vodacom Quality Management system for the ERM department in line with IS31000

Stay abreast of the latest developments in our industry, as well as in risk management, so that Vodacom aligns with best practices.

To undertake other projects as required under the control of the

EHOD:
Business risk management.
Manage internal and external audits on the ERM department and the potential closing of any audit findings.

Your responsibilities will include:

To conduct operational, tactical, and principle risk assessments for Vodacom Group.

To update appropriate risk exposure standards, and guidelines and maintain the ERM policy and framework, risk categories, risk library, and control library.

Ensure that risks, drivers, and controls are clearly recorded, mitigated, managed and communicated to all relevant parties.
To report on risk information and progress on any projects to relevant forums and committee meetings.
To maintain and manage the risk management system.

To continuously train staff and conduct awareness through different means on risk management principles, in order to improve the risk culture of the organization.


Must have technical/professional qualifications:

A diploma/degree or equivalent qualification (B.Com, Risk Management, Business Studies)
Honors degree is advantageous.
Additional relevant professional certification will be an advantage.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

Minimum of 5 years of business experience (essential)
Knowledge of business processes and internal controls.
Knowledge of and experience with risk management systems.
Good understanding of the King reports and ISO31000.
Telecommunications exposure will be an advantage.
At least three years exposure to enterprise wide risk management.
Experience in conducting risk assessments.
Experience in risk control self-assessments.
Executive Report writing.
Advanced Microsoft Office
Engaging with stakeholders at senior levels.
