Lecturer in Economics (Extended Curriculum Programme)

The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that educates the students across multiple disciplines including Accounting, Economics, Finance, Industrial Psychology (Human Resources Management), Information Systems, Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS), Institute for Social Development, Management and Entrepreneurship, Political Studies, School of Government (including Public Administration) and the Academic Literacies Progamme.


  • Facilitate learning and teaching at the undergraduate levels in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, in both facetoface contact mode and online/blended learning environment;
  • Conduct research and publish accredited scholarship output;
  • Undertake postgraduate supervision;
  • Provide academic leadership and administration;
  • Undertake curriculum development, review and renewal;
  • Participate in community engagement and outreach.

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters qualification or equivalent in the field of Economics.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating undergraduate learning in at least one of the following two core subdisciplines: Microeconomics or Macroeconomics.
