Assistant Claims Handler

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The purpose of this position is to is to ensure that claims are processed in terms of the policies and procedures of the Company and in accordance with standards established by the Company and the Scorpion Legal Protection Membership agreement.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Consulting with clients:
Attending to clients & providing legal assistance and feedback on claims.
Drafting & Attending to Correspondence:
Attending to drafting & responding to correspondence to clients & Attorneys
Providing Feedback to clients:
Ensuring that clients receive regular updates and feedback
Obtaining feedback from Attorneys:
Obtaining regular feedback from Attorney on progress of claims, Cost Recovery. Obtaining supporting documents for payment of bills and Processing bills for payment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Education:
Matric,National Diploma in Paralegal Studies (or equivalent qualification
Experience:
At least 1 year' experience in a legal environment.
Experience dealing with Labour claims (advantageous)
Other:
Must be computer literate; specifically proficient in MS Word and Outlook.
General working conditions:
Regular office environment and no health and safety risks involved.
No travel involved.
