**Job Description

  • You will be responsible for**:
  • Constantly review development in the field to ensure effectiveness and alignment of system and procedures to best practice.
  • Ensure that systems and procedures are compliant
  • Advise management on the most appropriate course of action when decision relates to communication
  • Provide advice and interpretation to relevant stakeholders
  • Provide regular information to all stakeholders
  • Ensures briefs are distributed to appropriate level
  • Identifies issues for onmine briefing for target audience/s, monitors distribution, collates and obtains answers to employee queries arising from the brief and ensure feedback.
  • Effective two way open communication with employees
  • Develop a trusting and mutual respect relationship with internal and external service suppliers
  • Ensure that employees work in a safe environment and set targets for improvements
  • Support and participate in the training and development requirements of employees
  • Ensure that employees have clear work expectations and plans
  • Communicate effectively with organizations team
  • Support the induction of new employees
  • Identify potential conflict situations and minimize the implications
  • Fairly manage cultural diversity
  • Identify ideas to increase motivation and competencies
  • Assist various units communicate their objectives
  • Identify risk areas and communicate to management
  • Develop relevant campaigns to deal with issues (e.g. safety, production, etc.)
  • Compile mine publications
  • Ensure corporate identity compliance
  • Assist with communication campaigns
  • Organise mine visits in liaison with Public relations office
  • Organize mine and special events
  • In conjunction with the operation and Corporate Communications department, plans and implements research to validate effectiveness of communication strategies by devising e.g. devising and administration questionnaires, workplace visits, monitoring workplace behaviour etc.

This role reports to the Communications Manager/Senior Manager Social Performance and Development.
**Qualifications

  • You must have**:
  • Degree / Diploma in Communications or Public Relations

Experience required:

  • At least three years' experience in the communication field.
  • You must have worked in a communications role previously.
**Additional Information

  • Knowledge and Skills**:
  • Proficiency in English plus one South African National Languages
  • Advanced writing skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Certificate of Fitness
