Purpose of the Position

The Federations and Festival Coordinator will serve as the primary liaison between SuperSport Schools and sports federations, as well as rights holders of festivals. This role encompasses relationship management, logistical coordination, and oversight of the commentary team to ensure the successful execution of events and productions.

Key Performance Objectives

Manage workflow and Coordination

Gather and coordinate logistical details with stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of events and productions Manage the workflow of the commentary team, ensuring assignments are made efficiently and training is provided as needed Oversee internal communication related to events, productions, and commentary assignments. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective coordination and alignment of objectives.

Event Production  and Sports Activations

Provide technical support to the commentary team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and information for successful productions Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to enhance the aspects of productions. Conduct debrief sessions with the commentary team to evaluate the success of school sports festivals. Handle administrative tasks related to event planning, coordination, and documentation. Maintain accurate records of communication, agreements, and logistical details Assist in the coordination of sports events, sponsor activations, and promotional activities. Plan, organize, and coordinate school sports festivals, competitions, and events. Collaborate with schools, federations, and relevant stakeholders to ensure successful and well-executed sporting festivals. Assist the Commercial Manager with identifying and pursuing partnership opportunities with sports federations and related organizations.

Manage Financial Performance

Contribute to the financial success of events by ensuring cost-effective logistics and resource allocation. Collaborate with the finance team to monitor and manage budgetary aspects related to events and productions. Conduct a thorough financial analysis after each school sports festival. Evaluate the success of revenue-generating strategies and identify areas for financial improvement in future events.

Stakeholder Management

Gather feedback from schools, students, and federations regarding school sports programming and events. Use feedback to improve the overall experience for the school sports community. Collaborate with marketing and promotion teams to create campaigns highlighting school sports events. Contribute to the development of promotional materials for school sports programming. Facilitate clear communication between the SuperSport Schools division and sports federations regarding programming, events, and promotional opportunities. Ensure federations are informed about upcoming broadcasts and promotional initiatives. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with sports federations, athletic associations, and governing bodies. Attend school sports events and festivals to ensure smooth coordination, capture highlights, and foster relationships with participants and organizers.

Qualifications

A Diploma in Sports Management, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field. A Degree advantageous.

Experience

Minimum 3- 5 years of experience in commentary, showcasing a successful track record, sports industry, with a focus on sports federations, festivals, and logistics Previous experience in event coordination, sports management, or a similar role. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of sports federations and related regulatory bodies. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
