We are looking for an Infrastructure and Security Engineer to manage and secure all aspects of our client’s global hybrid IT infrastructure, encompassing on-premises, Azure, and SaaS-hosted services. The successful candidate will ensure high standards for performance, security, resilience, and compliance, working collaboratively with the global IT team, external IT partners, and other business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on, day-to-day management of our client's hybrid infrastructure to ensure uptime, security and performance.
- Identify and implement best practices for optimising infrastructure (continuous improvement)
- Help to develop, manage and run IT security systems and processes to reduce the risk of breaches and protect sensitive information.
- Maintain our clients' security posture through continuous focus on technical security improvements.
- Technical involvement in processes such as disaster recovery and penetration testing, assessing and resolving issues that they raise.
- Work closely with the other Technology and Innovation team members and the wider business, providing 3rd \ 4th line support for complex issues.
- Evaluate new technologies, make recommendations and implement improvements.
Competencies and Attributes
- A wide and broad understanding of IT fundamentals.
- Hands on, system implementation and 3rd \ 4th line support knowledge and capabilities.
- In-depth experience with the Microsoft stack across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Strong multi-site networking experience; TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP; firewalls, switching.
- Experience managing physical and virtual data centre environments.
- A good understanding of technical and data security concepts.
- Be able to intelligently and effectively troubleshoot issues, engaging additional internal or external support as appropriate.
- Self-motivated and proactive; able to work independently, doesn't require micro-management, able to present solutions not just find problems.
- Personable with good communication skills.
- Be prepared to work out of hours as necessary, to accommodate service affecting work or in response to an incident.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in system administration or infrastructure management roles.
Beneficial Qualifications and Experience:
- Educational qualifications in IT or related fields.
- Vendor qualifications.
- Experience within the financial services industry.

- Azure (IaaS, serverless PaaS, SaaS components)
- Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)
