Description

This role is responsible for growing Old Mutual Corporate’s SME business by driving the Sales and Distribution strategy for the segment aligned to the business strategy. This role involves strategizing and executing plans to expand market reach, manage relationships with partners and clients with strong experience in SME digital platform/product sales OR in a Fintech/digital sales environment. The role also involves driving the sales and distribution of the Old Mutual Corporate SMEgo proposition.

Key Result Areas:

Develops and drives the execution of the SME Sales & Distribution Strategy

Create and develop viable sales structure for SMEgo to deliver required business results & metrics.

Recruitment and management of field and tele-sales teams.

Develop and implement a multi-channel distribution strategy aligned to targets for the growth of SMEGo subscriber base, lending book and revenue from partners.

Identify environmental, market, product, technology and competitive changes that will impact on sales and profitability, and identify appropriate strategies to address in immediate, medium and long term.

Drive delivery and accountability for key metrics

Sales Operations and Distribution channels

Translate strategies into relevant distribution operating model and organisational structures, roles and processes to achieve sales and business targets.

Oversee the sales process from lead generation to closure.

Expand and optimise distribution channels to increase reach and customer base.

Implements and influences propositions aligned to customer segment priorities and targets.

Monitor and manage the performance and activities of the unit to agreed strategic and operational objectives.

Ensure that standard operating procedures are developed and implemented across the business unit and remain in an audit ready state.

Ensure the development of a healthy pipeline in collaboration with the cross-functional/cross segment teams that support the SME proposition.

Undertake key client and prospect engagement where appropriate to support segment objectives.

Responsible for distribution strategy and giving direction to marketing in delivery of the strategy through various tactics and approaches.

Gives input to product teams to enhance the SMEGo value propositions based on client feedback.

Relationship Building

Responsible for building and maintain internal relationships across the Old Mutual SME value chain, in support of the Group’s ambitions for the customer segment.

Responsible for external networking and relationship building with lead providers and door openers that would contribute to growing the SMEGo subscriber base and lending book.

Performance monitoring

Accountable for sales and service team’s delivery

Monitor sales and service performance.

Guides and directs staff to achieve operational excellence standards.

Creates a climate for optimal performance.

Provides regular reports and insights for continuous growth.

Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure that sales and distribution activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.

Proactively identify and mitigate risks in associated sales activities.

Skills,Qualifications and Experience required:

Relevant business / commercial degree

At least 5 years in a B2B/field sales environment with some experience in sales leadership.

Experience in a Fintech/digital sales and/or SME banking

Highly resilient and ability to work under pressure with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

A solid track record of sales delivery via multiple channels.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Call-centre experience may be beneficial
