Johannesburg, South Africa Outsourced CFO Full time

Outsourced CFO is looking for a POD leader who plays a vital role in managing a team of accounting professionals whilst providing technical guidance and oversight and ensuring that all client compliance work is completed effectively, on time and within budget.

Job responsibilities will include, among other:

Client Service and Administration;

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and timely responses.
  • Manage a team of accounting professionals to ensure on-time completion of annual and monthly compliance work.
  • Provide technical oversight and ensure adherence to accounting and tax laws and regulations; review and sign off on financial statements.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including billing, onboarding, and offboarding of clients, and assist finance in debtors' follow-up.

Planning and Administration;

  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of weekly timesheets by POD team members.
  • Evaluate monthly budget vs. actuals for the POD and update CRM.
  • Manage project tasks in the monthly capacity planner.
  • Ensure timely submission of timesheets before COB on Fridays.

Management;

  • Collaborate with POD Leaders and management to enhance service delivery and contribute to firm growth.
  • Conduct team meetings, provide coaching, and deliver performance feedback.
  • Support onboarding, training, and mentoring of new team members within your POD.
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings and prepare accordingly; perform monthly planning meetings for optimal resource utilization.

Training;

  • Ensure scheduled training is completed and engage with the technical team when needed.
  • Deliver training updates and present training to the cloud accounting team.
  • Foster continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Provide mentorship and support for ongoing professional growth.

The ideal candidate for this position will hold the CA(SA) or SAIPA or AGA(SA) or similar professional qualification. They will have 5 - 8+ years post articles experience including previous management and consulting experience.
