Requirements

A qualification in hospitality management or business managementRelevant experience in hotel management, restaurant management or visitor attractionExcellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skillsAbility to manage a teamSome experience of financial managementEnthusiasm and the ability to maintain high standards under pressureFluent in English and AfrikaansInterest in South African history will be to your advantage

Responsibilities

Building and leading a team of museum personnel across various departments (exhibitions, restaurant, maintenance)Creating a pleasant guest experienceUpkeep of all museum installations, of which some could be technically complexOversee management of restaurant teamManaging site maintenance, including gardens and groundsDefining long-term goals, developing business models, and implementing such plansBuilding on employee strengths and positioning teams accordinglyManaging suppliers and building strong community relationsManaging the museum’s operations and budget
