IT Support Technician

Disruptive is seeking a highly proficient and dedicated IT Support Technician to join their Client's Operations team. The individual will play a crucial role in overseeing the IT operations, ensuring the seamless functionality of the infrastructure, software systems and providing support to product and development teams.

1. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following but is not limited to:

1.1. Operations-related IT, including:

  • Develop propose, procure, implement, configure, optimise and maintain IT infrastructure (e.g. servers, networks, PABX, Firewall / Security, backups, CCTV, access control, etc.), user support (software and hardware troubleshooting, procurement, user assistance, etc.) and software solutions (managing installations, licenses, cloud-based services, etc.) based on company operational requirements. Such solutions should support and optimise the general and specialised operations and activities of the Employer and its staff; and
  • Also applies to digital Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), implemented at client to optimise and digitise company operations and to meet the requirements of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 certification.
  • Product and Development support to the production team as and when required.

1.2. Careful documentation of all activities to serve as useful record of development decisions, configurations, infrastructure, usernames, passwords, results, etc;

1.3. General administrative and technical tasks in support of the Employer’s operations, from time to time; and

1.4. Performing minor support roles within the company, as required.

2. REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced Diploma / National Diploma in Information Technology or similar qualification.

2.2. Required Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS preferred);
  • Experience with network security (intrusion detection, encryption); and
  • Experience with virtualization (Docker, VSphere, VirtualBox).

2.3. Recommended Skills and Experience

  • Experience Linux administration;
  • Experience with business networks;
  • Experience with Python: PCPP-31-1xx; PCPP-32-2xx

2.3.4. Cloud:

  • AWS Professional Level Courses
  • AWS Specialty Level Courses

2.3.5. Leadership experience;

2.3.6. Proficiency in version control systems like Git and SVN;

2.3.7. Experience in enterprise networking policy; and

2.3.8. Experience in authentication (LDAP, SSO, OAuth).

2.4. General skills

2.4.1. Ability to learn fast and absorb new information quickly;

2.4.2. Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate on large projects;

2.4.3. Ability to work independently;

2.4.4. Strong problem-solving skills; and

2.4.5. High standard of communication skills in English (both verbal and written).

Term and Remuneration

  • Contract 6 Months with Possible extension
