Job Opportunity: Costing Clerk 6 Months Contract

We are seeking for a Costing Clerk within our Admin department to join our factory in Parow. If you're interested in becoming part of a dynamic team, we'd like to hear from you.

The Costing Clerk will be responsible for providing the costing of products for all outgoing quotes and jobs, and managing the cost data of products on the internal system This is to ensure jobs are quoted and billed correctly, and cost-efficiently to enable the company to meet its delivery deadlines. Ensure that the overall finance process is managed, and that invoicing is processed monthly.

Responsibilities:

Procurement

Maintain database of costs for various types of raw materials by benchmarking costs of items to industry standards and updating these costs on the database to enable estimation of costs for project purposes to be within 5% of actual costs if order is received.

Estimate manufacturing methods/times and material costs using the relevant database and send to project management personnel to be included in the jobs by the set deadlines.

Conduct time study when an item is sold to check the estimated against the actual material costs and actual labour times.

Conduct variance analysis when a variance is reported by a relevant stakeholder.

Calculate selling price using the agreed mark up as per the Sales Budget

Monitor contracts regarding validity & initiating price updates if necessary.

Check & update Bill of Material on JDE using the information obtained from drawings to facilitate the manufacture of an item.

Set up routing after the creation of the Bill of Material

Update calculation spreadsheets when new or improved manufacturing processes are established.

Run reports as per departmental procedure.

Update reports when necessary.

Set up cost reports and send them to managers for approval as per departmental procedure.

Submit accurate prices on time to the proposals department.

Responsible for the compiling of cut sheets for each product manufactured in the factory.

Costing of each product manufactured in the factory- ensure that the costings is updated regularly.

Give feedback to Factory Manager/Supervisors and Projects Managers

Stock take control- Assisting with stock take needs to take place quarterly.

Finance

Quote breakdown: Joinery, Installation, Buy-out, Construction/Building

Quote and Invoice control for the different projects.

Ensure that the projects are invoiced for the correct month.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Grade 12

National Diploma in Cost Management & Accounting will be advantageous.

Procurement and Finance experience

3 - 4 years of experience within the manufacturing industry

The ability to read technical drawings will be advantageous.

Reside in and around Parow area.
