A highly reputable Assurance, Accounting, and Consulting firm is seeking to employ a Senior Accountant. The firm has offices in Paarl and Centurion.

 

The firm is looking for a self-confident individual with a completed accounting degree, SAIPA/SAICA articles and preferably supervisory experience. The candidate will work as part of a team but must also be willing to take initiative and capable of working independently. The role will be office-based, however, flexible options will be in play after the initial training period and dependent on performance targets.

 

The Group was founded in 2012 by a passionate Chartered Accountant with a background in wealth management and family accounting. Established in response to the high demand for expert trust administration services, this firm has become the go-to back office for many family office entities, private families, and B-BEE trusts in South Africa. They offer an all-round back-office service offering and are considered experts in local and offshore accounting, as well as South African personal, trust and corporate tax compliance.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-level accounting duties.
  • Perform high-level tax compliance.
  • Preparation and Review of management accounts.
  • Preparing accounting work relating to annual financial statements.
  • Compilations of Annual Financial Statements on CaseWare.
  • Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients.
  • Review monthly bookkeeping / VAT of SAIPA Trainees.
  • Preparation and Review of tax returns.
  • Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE, and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis.
  • Payroll and other monthly reviews
  • Manage, train, and supervise SAIPA staff to achieve set goals.
  • Provide daily assistance, guidance, and training with regards to bookkeeping, related taxes and SARS submissions to SAIPA Trainees.
  • Reviewing work done by supervised staff before partner review, where applicable.
  • Ad hoc accounting and tax work
  • Client interaction and relations.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • AGA(SA), PA(SA) or CA(SA) and advantage.
  • Degree in Accounting or similar.
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
  • Post articles experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with CaseWare.

 

Remuneration:

  • R300,000 to R480,000 pa ctc, negotiable on experience.
